Electrical Faults Found & Fixed
A fault can leave you wondering what has gone wrong and whether the electrics are safe to use. If an RCD repeatedly trips, a socket stops working or part of the house loses power, our electricians use specialist test equipment to trace the problem and establish its cause.
From our Leighton Buzzard base, we can usually respond promptly to domestic faults. We explain the cause once it has been found, and most problems can be repaired during that visit.

Tripping RCDs & Breakers
An RCD or breaker disconnects the supply when it detects a problem it is designed to protect against. A damaged cable, faulty appliance or moisture in outdoor equipment may be responsible. We test the installation to locate the fault and carry out the repair.
Loss Of Power
Lost power in one room or throughout the house? We’ll investigate the supply, consumer unit and circuits to locate the fault and restore power as soon as we can.
Faulty Sockets, Switches & Lights
A warm or sparking switch, a dead socket or a light that buzzes or flickers deserves attention. We’ll check the circuit as well as the accessory, then repair or replace the faulty part and confirm that it is safe.
Burning Smells & Scorch Marks
Treat a hot socket, scorch marks or a burning smell as a warning. If you can safely isolate the affected circuit, do so and contact us. We’ll make the installation safe and carry out the necessary repair.
Your Fault Finding Questions Answered
When the electrics stop behaving as they should, you need to know what to do next. These answers cover repeated tripping, callout costs and whether a repair can be finished during the visit.
Why does my electricity keep tripping?
Repeated tripping can come from moisture in outdoor equipment, a faulty appliance or damaged wiring. Avoid repeatedly resetting the circuit. Contact us to trace the cause, especially if you notice heat, burning smells or visible damage.
Do you charge for a callout?
There is no callout charge. Before we repair anything, we explain what has gone wrong and agree the cost with you.
Can you fix the fault on the same visit?
Usually we can. We keep commonly needed parts with us, allowing many repairs to be completed there and then. If a replacement needs ordering, we’ll leave the circuit safe and arrange to return as soon as possible.
