Is Your Home’s Wiring Safe?
Electrical installations deteriorate over time, and faults are often hidden behind walls and under floors. Inspections help bring those hidden problems to light. Regular checks give you a clearer understanding of your home’s electrical safety and can identify developing issues before they become expensive repairs.

Electrical Installation Condition Reports
During an EICR, we inspect and test the fixed installation, including circuits, the consumer unit, sockets, switches and fittings. Results are recorded in the report, and we explain the observations so you know which issues need action.
For an owner-occupied home, an EICR is generally recommended at intervals of no more than 10 years, with earlier checks where needed. Moving into a property is another sensible time to review the condition of its electrics.
Landlord Electrical Safety Checks
England’s private landlords must arrange electrical inspection and testing at least every five years, or sooner where specified, and give tenants the report. We can provide the inspection and documentation, then quote for repairs needed to address an unsatisfactory result.
Pre-Purchase Inspections
A standard survey doesn’t test the electrics. Before you commit to buying a property, an electrical inspection can help you understand any work you may face. It checks the condition of the wiring and consumer unit, giving you information to consider alongside your survey.

How often should my home’s electrics be tested?
Our usual advice is at least every 10 years for an owner-occupied property and every 5 years for rented accommodation, with shorter intervals where the condition report requires them. We also recommend an inspection when buying or moving into a home.
How long does an electrical inspection take?
Allow approximately three to five hours for most homes. Larger properties or installations with more circuits can take longer. We’ll tell you about the planned power interruptions before testing begins.
What happens if the inspection finds a problem?
You’ll be told what each finding means, how urgently it needs attention and how it can be addressed. We make dangerous issues safe straight away, then set out any necessary repairs in a clear, fixed quote.
